Turning Experiences into Feeling

Where the idea for FEEL came from…

Throughout years of traveling (independent and work related), Sandra Sallovitz has observed the need for people to experience a destination authentically and with a renewed source of energy. It has become common that individuals often feel exhausted and in need of another ‘getaway’, when returning from a current vacation. Due to limited time, last minute planning or the inability to let go and relax, people often rush, over indulge or stress while on vacation. In such circumstances, the destination isn’t truly enjoyed. Sandra has created FEEL, a new approach and philosophy to experience a destination to it’s fullest potential: to FEEL a destination.

What FEEL is…

FEEL is about enjoying a destination with the right energy. It is about taking the time to allow oneself to experience a destination through everything it has to offer. This is accomplished by participating in various activities and by living them to their fullest potential. The intent of FEEL is for an individual to reach a state of happiness by experiencing a location and its featured activities by connecting with one’s five senses.

FEEL encourages an individual to not only consume an authentic meal, yet to taste and recognize the flavours of a culture. To not only hear national music, yet to feel it too. This program invites individuals to partake in art, in dance, in exercise and in exploration with a goal to connect oneself with a destination. FEEL wishes to inspire people to express themselves freely in a number of ways through numerous offered activities.

FEEL isn’t only about achieving a holistic sense of wellness. It is additionally about culture, about living life to its fullest potential and being present each moment in a destination.

The elements involved in FEEL…

An important element (and outcome) of FEEL is the focus on energy (and the gaining of it). An individual should return from a destination feeling renewed with a restored sense of energy. Another important element of FEEL is happiness. Happiness results naturally from being present and allowing oneself to experience various stimuli with full thought and attention. Happiness is acquired through even the smallest of pleasures – taking in the scene of a new location for the first time, smiling at stranger, sampling a new culinary dish, laughing at a meaning lost in translation… FEEL invites individuals to immerse themselves in such moments, moments that contribute to one achieving the intent of FEEL.

How you can feel…

FEEL is the approach in which this program is experienced. It is meant to be implemented throughout the entirety of the vacation. It is not a stop and start initiative. An individual starts “feeling” upon waking and continues this throughout the day. One is meant to “feel” each activity, be it when walking through a city, taking photographs of inspirational subjects, doing yoga on a beach, sipping coffee at local café… You “feel” by setting an intent and implementing it throughout the remainder of a day. FEEL is a program that invites people to travel and experience a location to its fullest potential.

Where FEEL can be found and experienced…

FEEL is of course experienced while traveling to new and “exotic” destinations, yet it can also be implemented beginning in ones hometown. In this regard, FEEL is more of a state of mind than a particular destination or the opportunity to travel. It can be initiated by discovering sensations and activities starting at home. One can do this by exploring their own city/country through its attractions, important sites, national parks, ski resorts… It is about allowing oneself to commit to an activity and being present throughout the process, either in ones hometown or in a new location.
